Great post Chris. I have a true story which happened to me the other day regarding submitting to a publication and headlines.

I wrote a piece on the proper usage of the English language and how it’s always important to use it correctly. The title? In a Post-Coronavirus World, Proper English is still Imperative . . . It had nothing to do with the Coronavirus, just a play on the “post — [fill in the blank] world” meme.

It was turned down because the publication said it didn’t want to publish any posts about the pandemic.

What?!

Did they even read it? There wasn’t one mention of the Coronavirus in the post.

So, I renamed it Proper English is still Imperative for Success. . ., reformatted the first paragraph, and resubmitted it to the same publication and it was published.

The title is important for getting published also.
