I have a daughter who has autism and I think the very same things you do that she will never grow out of it and be “normal.” I know unwittingly this will not be the case, she may grow out of some of her issues as she ages as I’m assured.
I joke that she will be 80 percent a normal person once she grows up which is better than the 50 percent normal person I see myself. Ha! Ha! Ha!
“I had to accept that, beyond a major miracle of my soulmate dropping from the sky, my life would never include a significant other, and my only children would have fur,” even though I’m not autistic, I had problems with relationships my whole life and when I turned forty I thought I would never marry and have children. When I turned forty eight I married and had my daughter.
Never give up, living outside of the box is what makes you unique.
